After finishing the first volume of the Sandman, I easily transitioned into Rick Riordan's Book One of The Olympians series. It was a fast read and fun. There are numerous comparisons to HP of course, yet it holds its own. I read it in two sittings and didn't feel compelled to run out for Book Two, but would read more in the future.
